HBCU National Band & Orchestra Directors' Consortium

Continuing excellence through music education.

The HBCU National Band and Orchestra Directors' Consortium is dedicated to empowering and advancing the legacy of musical excellence at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. With a rich history rooted in cultural expression, leadership, and innovation, our consortium unites the finest music educators, directors, and performers from across the nation to celebrate and enhance the vibrant tradition of Black music.

Through collaboration, professional development, and a shared commitment to artistry, we provide a platform for fostering the next generation of musical leaders. Our annual events, masterclasses, and workshops offer valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, refine techniques, and support one another in the pursuit of excellence.

At the heart of our mission is a deep respect for the transformative power of music education. We aim to ensure that every student musician receives the mentorship, resources, and opportunities necessary to thrive, both on and off the stage. Together, we uplift the future of music, honoring the past while creating pathways for innovation and growth.

Join us in our mission to inspire, educate, and celebrate the next generation of band and orchestra directors. Together, we continue the legacy of HBCU musical greatness.
